The oomph Newport Coffee Table is the center piece of Designer Charlotte Palmer Lekakos' room at the DC Design Center's "Dream House". Eight DC area designers including Charlotte of Willard and Palmer Design of Chevy Chase were chosen and paired up with Washington area jewelers. They were challenged to create a space inspired by a piece of their jewelry.
Charlotte had the good fortune of working with Ann Hand, whose jewelry design includes many wonderful patriotic brooches and necklaces - she is a favorite of many prominent political women including several first ladies and future first ladies! As you can see, the table was the ideal choice in every sense for her assignment of the "sitting room", while showing-off the antique Oushak underneath!
The Washington Design Center along with Traditional Home magazine is hosting a special shopping event open to the public on September 15th in the evening (lots of interesting events during the day, too). Be sure to stop by if you are in the area!
