With the Academy Awards upon us on Sunday evening, the excitement is mounting. This year had a diverse group of films - some memorable, some were not. We tried to see most of them. Of course, Brad and George are favorites for us, just because, so we obviously made it to those. The film "The Artist" interested us and we marveled at the way a story was told through actions and expressions alone before talkies. It reminded us to go back in the film archives and dust-off a few Chaplin clips which are actually very entertaining. "The Descendants" showed a slice of suburban Hawaiian life that was interesting. Being from the east coast - all we ever knew was Hawaii 5-0 so that was fun. And of course, George is always a treat to watch whether he's acting or not. "The Help" was terrific and almost as good as the book. We loved all the snarky women and the relationships that were built. We even liked "Moneyball" which sounded at first blush like a sports flick, but of course we had Brad to watch, so we were ok with it. But mostly, being chicks, we like to watch the red carpet. We love to critique the dresses and of course we love the colors, the drama, and the diamonds! So put your feet up on you on your oomph coffee table and watch all the fun. It's always amusing to see who misbehaves, who looks surprisingly great and who is just plain - a mess. And the winner is . . .
