A Familiar Shape...

Our favorite shape has been showing up everywhere for centuries and I guess that's why we love it. According to Wikipedia- the word quatrefoil etymologically means "four leaves," and applies to general four-lobed shapes in various contexts. The word first came from the Middle English quaterfoil set of four leaves, from Anglo-French quatre + Middle English -foil (as in trefoil). The first known use was the 15th century - just a while back and still going strong.
The quatrefoil shape is everywhere! It pops up all over Europe and the Middle East on ancient structures. It's current today in the form of windows, jewelry, furniture and more. It's no wonder its popularity has endured the test of time! It's a happy shape and we love the symmetry and playfulness it exudes when translated into our bright fun furniture.
We love it in a window!
